In regular season action, Bloomfield secured a 56 to 46 victory over Gideon. Greenville beat Doniphan in a high-scoring game, 70 to 64. Twin Rivers cruised past Malden with a dominant 65 to 35 win, and in one of the biggest upsets of the night, the Advance Hornets defeated the Bell City Cubs, 75 to 59, showcasing their offensive firepower. Campbell came out on top against Neelyville in a battle of two very good Class 2 teams, winning 59 to 51.
Over in Chaffee, East Prairie picked up a solid 56 to 40 win over the Red Devils. Woodland rolled past Leopold, 71 to 39. In one of the night’s most thrilling games, Ste. Genevieve edged Saxony Lutheran, 66 to 64, in overtime. Southland earned a 54 to 40 victory over Cooter, while the Risco Tigers, one of the top Class 1 teams in the state, dominated Oran, 77 to 42.
Coach Mark Dannenmueller’s Scott City Rams posted an impressive 81 to 22 win over St. Pius from Festus. Hayti defeated Osceola, Arkansas 85 to 74. Caruthersville battled Kelly and came out on top, 66 to 60. Senath-Hornersville made a big statement with a commanding 95 to 48 victory over Holcomb.
In the SEMO Conference Tournament at Sikeston, Notre Dame beat Poplar Bluff in a defensive battle, 41 to 37. Top-seeded Sikeston dominated Dexter, 79 to 37, moving on with ease. And in one of the night’s most exciting games, Coach Seth McBroom’s Kennett Indians pulled off a dramatic 77 to 74 upset win over Charleston.
